Application

Monoethanolamine is an important corrosion inhibitor in boiler water treatment, automotive engine coolant, drilling and cutting oils, and various other lubricants.

However, monoethanolamine should not be used in combination with nitrite corrosion inhibitors to prevent the formation of nitrosamine carcinogens.
