Application
Polyphosphate is one of the earliest, most widely used, and most economical corrosion inhibitors for cooling water.
In addition to being used as a corrosion inhibitor, polyphosphate can also be used as a scale inhibitor.
When using polyphosphates alone, when the pH value is 6.O ~ 7.O, the use concentration is 20 ~ 40mg/L, and when the pH value is 7.5 ~ 8.5, the general use concentration is 10 ~ 20mg/L.
In order to improve the corrosion inhibition effect and reduce the amount of polyphosphate, it is usually combined with zinc salt, molybdate, organophosphate and other corrosion inhibitors.
The phosphorus formula requires a certain concentration of calcium ions in the cooling water.
From the perspective of corrosion inhibition, it should not be less than 30mg /L (CaCOa), and the dissolved oxygen in water is required to be more than 2mg/L, and the open circulating cooling water system can meet this requirement.
Polyphosphates are suitable for water temperatures below 50 ° C.Don't stay in the water for too long.Otherwise, phosphate hydrolysis to orthophosphate will increase the tendency to produce phosphate scale.
