Application

Used as an additive to oil-based fracturing fluids. It is also used in the production of plasticizers, extractants, stabilizers, and intermediates for solvents and fragrances. Octanol itself is also used as a spice, to reconcile rose, lily and other floral flavors, as a soap spice.
