Basic Info.

Also known as maleic anhydride or malic anhydride, often referred to as maleic anhydride. Colorless crystal, strong irritating odor, freezing point 52.8ºC, boiling point 202ºC, easy to sublimate. It is mainly produced by the oxidation of n-butane or butene in benzene or C-4 fraction, and is the raw material for the production of unsaturated polyester and organic synthesis.

 

Application

Reagent for the determination of organic compounds with conjugated double bonds. Also used in synthetic resins, coatings, pesticides, medicine, food, and lubricating oil additives.
