White or microstrip yellow rhombic crystal or powder. It has a salty taste and looks similar to table salt. The dew is slowly oxidized to sodium nitrate in the air. Contact with organic matter is prone to combustion and explosion, and toxic nitrogen oxide gas is released during combustion.
 

Application Area

NaN02 is an oxidizing corrosion inhibitor suitable for water treatment with low or ultra-low hardness. This product is toxic, so it is mainly used for closed circulating cooling water system, is a dangerous corrosion inhibitor, when the use concentration is insufficient, not only no corrosion inhibition, but accelerate corrosion, the use concentration is usually 300 ~ 500mg/L. The best pH range of water quality is 8-10, so it is often used together with Na2C03 of 300 ~ /L. When the pH of water quality is <6, it decomposes and cannot inhibit corrosion. Often combined with sodium molybdate, on the one hand to play a synergistic effect, on the other hand to reduce the amount of both. It is only suitable for black metal rust prevention, and is ineffective for non-ferrous metals such as copper, and even has corrosion effect.
