Application Area

This product is a polar solvent, used as a plasticizer, spinning solvent, water soluble dyes and pigments dispersant. It can also be used as an oily solvent and an extraction agent for olefins and aromatics.

Propylene carbonate as battery electrolyte can withstand harsh light, heat and chemical changes. It also has certain uses in geological beneficiation and analytical chemistry.

In addition, propylene carbonate can also replace phenolic resin as a wood binder, and is also used to synthesize dimethyl carbonate.
